Sometime in 2009, I was commissioned to document the dome ceiling paintings of Gapan Church prior to its conservation. Thus, I went to Gapan in Nueva Ecija, to the Three Kings Parish, a beautiful church and was built from 1856 to 1872. I already forgot the details of the history of this ceiling painting but the condition wasn’t good. Made from galvanized iron sheets, paint has peeled on several parts and a portion has fallen. I spent just two days documenting this painting by sections and then by figures. It wasn’t really that difficult as long as you have a tripod and the relevant telephoto lens available. Here are ten selected images I’m posting.
